We Can See Reykjavik Harbor In Iceland ! ! !

Ralph via SAT phone (transcribed)
LAND HOOOO! We have been watching Iceland for a while as we approach. I believe I can see the lighthouse in Reykjavik’s harbor. We should be on shore in about an hour or two.
We will talk to you later.
Have a great day and God bless.

  7. That was our best crossing yet. The seas were great. We were a little heavy at first. I thought we had all our tanks full, but we still had our 70 gallon empty. We arrived with about 80 gallons to spare. We arrived at night, so all the city lights were on. Beautiful sight, the water temp went from 35 degrees F to about 52 degress F. I was able to sleep in my hammock at the docks. Customs was only about 20 minutes. We walked around the town since everything is in walking distance from the dock. We had some pizza at the Pizza Factory, (even after the store had closed, the owner let us come in and use the bathroom and feed us some pizza and coke. Yeah Man, that hit the spot, even though I could have eaten the whole pizza that we shared with about 4 other people.) Bob

  8. Up-date on my feet. Toes are still tingly and numb. I think they are getting better, thanks to Bryan's advice gotten from a mentor. We celebrated my birthday a few days late at a Lunch Buffet, at the Hotel at our last stop in Greenland................(I'll get the names right in the book about the trip. right now, I'd butcher them so bad without my notes, that I'm afraid to try. 9. Dale, we travel as fast as the boat will go at about 4500 rpms. When the boat is heavy, full of fuel, we can only go about 8 knotts; as the boat lightens, we can get about 22 knotts. It always feels good, going about 22 knotts except if the seas are rough (then we get all beat up and bust up the accessories attached to the boat, the boat handles everything great, it's the bolt on stuff that get broken). I didn't have much fun on the Canadian to Greenland crossing, and the very beginning of the Prince Christian sound to Tasiilaq where we were burning fuel until we decided to try to travel near the icebergs close to shore. There the current wasn't as strong and the wind seemed to be almost nonexistant because it was an off-shore breeze. But still cold, freezing, but as beautiful as any place on earth. Can't wait to see the video on the high definition camera, that I don't know how to view as of yet. (except on the little led screen, but I don't want to waste the batteries viewing. It is too hard to charge the batteries. Bob
