Whale Watching

The next morning a politician came out to meet us, I will have to look up his name. Seemed like a great guy. Then we met Rannveig and Vignir. They own Elding Whale Whatching Tours and quite a bit more.

Not only are they smart business people but they are very kind. We have been sleeping on one of their whale watching boats (Small ship). They have even let us eat with their crew. They got this cook, Helga, she can cook. That weight I lost, I think I will find.

They have tours to the Blue Lagoon, a natural hot spring, deep sea fishing, vocalno tours, and much more. This place has a lot to offer. One day I will bring my family here to see the country. It sure is nice to meet people like Rannveig and Vignir, successful and kind.

More about Iceland later.

  1. Ralph has been buzy out fund-raising and because I have no marketing experience, I spend a lot of my time out meeting people and seeing some of the sights. I have a HD video camera and I´m always out trying to capture what it is like to be in other countries, see what it is really like living here. We are hoping that after we get back to the states, we can have all our video turned into some type of documentary. Also, because I am also writing a book about this trip, I need to be doing things to make the book interesting. Going for a walk several miles to the mall today to buy some needed items sounds a lot better that me standing in a waiting room while Ralph is busy talking, especially when I got in a wreck while climbing into a city bus, the whole back window glass fell to the street,etc...

Tonight we were treated to a company party with the Elding Whale Watching company. After 5,400 miles, I finally got a taste of lobster. We were extremely forunite to run into them in Iceland, it really made our visit here really special.

  2. We are hoping to leave tomorrow around noon. The weather is really iffy and we´ll be doing several weather checks before we leave. Now that we are on the home stretch, we have to be careful since now the storms are starting to line up one right after another. We are hoping to make it to the volcanic island that starts with a V (I don´t have my notes right now, so I don´t want to kill the spelling). If we can get there tomorrow, we might have to wait a few days for another break in the weather before heading for the Ferro Islands. From there we really have to be careful, because the run to London will take about 5 days, and this is still the North Atlantic. Many bigger boats haven´t been able to make the crossing and since this is the smallest motorboat to ever cross the Atlantic, and we are ready to see our families, we can´t make any mistakes!!!!!!

  3. yesterday, we were treated to the pools (incredible, several pools at different temperatures. Heck,I would have been happy with just the incredible pre-pool-showers) afterwards. Magnus also treated us to dinner before taking us for a ride around Reykjavik, suggesting businesses Ralph might want to approach to give them a chance to get their company´s name on our boat.
